Garnering his 25 years of cooking and kitchen management experience, Executive Chef and Owner Zumo Ashurov opened Vanka Vstanka a.k.a. Vanka Café in the summer of 2007 with a vision of creating the kind of eatery where everyone feels comfortable, satiated, and at home.
A Master of his craft, Chef Ashurov trained at three of the top Culinary Arts schools in Russia including the famed Plekhanov School of Culinary Arts in Moscow. Chef Ashurov started his career in the United States working in popular eateries and later in large catering halls. Eventually, perfected skills and passion for his work prompted the idea to go into business for himself and soon Vanka Café was born!
